NAGLE-RICE PS
24/02/2021
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are delighted with the news that schools are reopening next Monday,1st March 2021, for Junior Infants to 2nd classes.
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) has not advised any change in the infection prevention and control measures in the context of the new variants. However, they emphasise the importance of rigorous adherence by members of the school community to existing measures. The same guidelines and safety measures will apply in our school as before Christmas.
Please note the following:-
Drop off and Collection
- Drop off will be the same for all classes i.e. – Classrooms will be open from 8.40am
- Collection times: Infants (Junior & Senior) 1.40pm 1st Class – 2.30pm Both 2nd classes: 2.40pm
There is to be NO congregation outside the school at drop off and collection times and masks are to be worn at all times by adults.
We are also asked to convey the following information:-
- Please be advised pupils are not to return to or attend school if they are identified by the HSE as a close contact of a confirmed case of COVID-19 or if they live with someone who has symptoms of the virus.
- Pupils are not to return or attend school if they have travelled outside of Ireland;
- Pupils are asked to cooperate with any public health officials and the school for contact tracing purposes and follow any public health advice in the event of a case or outbreak in the school;
- There is a wide range of materials available for parents to re-inforce public health messaging. These include video messages from public health doctors on the safety of schools, posters and digital animations and videos. Available on gov.ie
Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation in what has been a very challenging time for everybody.
Please contact the school if you need any further clarification.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. Stay Safe.
